On the 17th May we will discuss a couple of topical issues in the comfortable surroundings of the Black Horse. We have the front lounge room – feel free to join us. There is no charge for our meetings. The pub sells a range of good beers. These are the topics for this week;

1. As part of the run-up to the election, Tim Farron (a Christian) was recently asked whether he believes that gay sex is a sin. This is a question he has been asked previously, including when he first became Lib Dem leader, and to which he has not given a clear answer until recently.

- Is it reasonable that he should be asked questions relating to his faith – he says he doesn’t like to mix politics and religion

2. There have been studies that show religiosity to be higher in less intelligent parts of western society. Our own discussions tend to move into areas and use language that many in our own society may find confusing or just uninteresting. – Are we driving people away? Should we try to make humanism / secularism / atheism more appealing to more people by changing some of what we do, locally / nationally?
