April 2017 meeting
|When:||7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tue 25th April|
|Where:||Friends Meeting House, Blackburn|
We are hoping to have a joint meeting with Bolton Humanists on 25th of April at Blackburn Quaker Meeting House. There will be a speaker and a lot of opportunity for discussion aftrwards. Further details to follow nearer the time.
This is now confirmed and one of our members, Brian Gane, will be giving a talk entitled “An outsider’s view of religion”. Brian contrasts human morality with religious morality by looking at its impact at an individual level and at the societal level. After looking at God’s morality in the bible, he looks at the damage done by the Christian Dark Ages and the inadequacy of faith as a way of knowing something, compared with rationality.
